A Wonderful Life

It's indeed a wonderful life.

It's been several months since my last post so I thought I give a quick update. Life is great. My daughter had her first birthday last month while my son turned six a couple of months ago. They are happy, healthy kids who are extremely easy-going and so easy to take care of. With this in mind, I am putting things in place to pursue child #3. When you have wonderful kids, single parenthood is a breeze!

Same as my first and second surrogacy journeys, my third will also be quite "affordable". I continue to be baffled by the cost estimates (upwards to $100K) being thrown around for surrogacy in North America. But then again, I pursued both my successful journeys independently versus using an agency. I did a lot of research, calling, verifying, planning, comparing, etc. so I always felt in control. In the end, my cost is no where near these numbers you continue hearing about - trust me. Sure, it's not as inexpensive as India but it's not tremendously far off. In the end, it all just depends what you are comfortable with and comfortable doing. Trust your own gut and instincts, and do what is best for YOU.

After saying all of that, I still have hopes for India and my embryos there. I'm not saying that the odds are good that they'll be letting in singles any time soon or ever. But one has to think positively while moving on. I have to admit that I don't think about India too much - there's absolutely nothing I can do at this time so no worries on my end. If anything changes, I'm sure I will hear from SCI and Dr. Shivani. I just wish they would allow us to ship our OWN embryos back to our home countries. I read about this topic once in awhile but if anyone has actually done it, I would love to know how!

For now, I'm focusing on making my upcoming journey a reality. Of course, I wish everyone I met in person and online (during my India journey) all the best in 2014. Plus to all the newbies out there pursuing the parenthood dream, good luck and may your dream come true!

Thank you again for letting me share this part of my world with you.
